The Marketing Manager is responsible for managing cross-channel marketing campaigns that drive customer acquisition and loyalty and brand awareness across all of its product lines. This position manages the daily operations of marketing communications, online marketing & social media teams.

Job Duties

  • Ideate and manage multi-channel campaigns across print media, email, web, advertising, videos and social media, from concept development to execution.
  • Work with Marketing and Selling teams, and Product Managers to develop full cycle marketing campaigns including demand generation, acquisition, on-boarding, retention, and win back triggered campaigns.
  • Work with Sales teams to implement robust demand generation and lead nurture programs.
  • Manage campaign testing to optimize campaign performance, through A/B testing, lifecycle management, personalization, and UX testing.
  • Develop and analyze key campaign metrics to ensure campaigns are meeting KPIs, company objectives, and revenue milestones, and delivering positive return on investment (ROI).
  • Develop and implement strategies to maintain a strong online presence, including SEO, PPC, UX/UI testing, e-newsletters and online advertising.
  • Manage GSS | HWT | KWT's eCommerce platform, including SSO and shopping cart performance.
  • Understanding targeting criteria, use SDL Campaigns software for list segmentation, lead scoring, and campaign workflow setup.
  • Oversee creation of collateral materials supporting selling and training efforts across the company.
  • Implement and manage a robust social media presence for GSS | HWT | KWT.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure GSS | HWT | KWT's company objectives, strategies and milestones are met.
  • Facilitate strong collaboration and knowledge sharing across the company.
  • Hire, train, motivate, evaluate, and manage staff in order to ensure that employees receive adequate guidance and resources to accomplish established group objectives.
  • Collaborate with Editorial, Research, Product Management and other internal teams to develop brand narratives for products, including key messages and talking points, and ensure consistency of use across the company.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of GSS | HWT | KWT curricula and services, and education market.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor group operating plan and staffing to ensure proper planning and efficient operation of department.

Required Education/Skills         

-          B.A. or B.S. in Marketing or Communications or related field.

-          6+ years related experience in marketing communications and online marketing.  

-          Experience with a Marketing Automation Platform (SDL Campaigns, Eloqua, Marketo, HubSpot, Pardot)

-          Knowledge of the publishing industry preferred, but not required.

-          Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

-          Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at once while completing quality work on a timely basis and within frequent, tight, deadlines.

-          Management and supervisory experience with the ability to coach others to enhance their skills.

-          Experience and comfort working with sensitive & confidential information; excellent ethics and judgment.

-          Ability to coach others to enhance their skills.

-          Possess a "Big Picture" mentality.

-          Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with staff, customers, school personnel and vendors.

-          Strong decision making skills.

-          Ability to excel in a rapidly changing environment

-          Knowledge of project management database preferred.

-          Strong service orientation.

-          Ability to sit for long periods of time; ability to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer

-          Ability to travel:

-          Approximately 3  trips per year.

-          Approximately 10 travel days per year.

-          Approximately 5% of working time.
