The Office Assistant is responsible for providing general office and human resources support and assistance with company events. This is a part time position and includes compiling new hire welcome materials, assistance in creating company communications, organizing employee events and celebrations, location facilities management, and supporting others groups in administrative duties as needed.


Job Duties                               

  • Arrange and set up facilities and supplies for office events, including Friday Happy Hours and employee birthday celebrations.
  • Coordinate with vendors to maintain the Omaha office property and grounds, as needed.
  • Assist the Human Resources group with communication, such as updating the office bulletin board, and emailing communications to employees.
  • Create on-boarding materials for new hire orientation.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of staff and their areas of responsibility, company products, workshops, and other services to assist in directing employees and customers efficiently.
  • Assist in planning and coordination of company events, such as the company picnic, Health & Wellness Fair, Turkey Fry, and Yankee Swap.
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail.
  • Assist Human Resources group with setting up interviews, trainings, and other meetings.
  • Assist Human Resources group with employment verification requests and completing pre-employment reference checks.
  • Maintain employee personnel files throughout all cycles of employment.
  • Maintain a neat and organized office and kitchen area.
  • Perform other administrative and office work as needed.


Required Education/Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ year related experience in reception, human resources, or office management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Experience and comfort working with sensitive & confidential information; exceptional ethics and judgment.
  • Ability to work independently (with direction).
  • Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with co-workers, vendors, and agencies.
  • Ability to excel in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Expertise with MS Office.
  • Excellent service orientation.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time; ability to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer.
  • Possess an active driver's license and the ability to drive.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
